NOTE: This information is outdated. Please refer to MIT Medical holds off on new appointments for seasonal flu vaccine (October 7, 2009)
September 21, 2009
MIT Medical is taking appointments for seasonal flu vaccination clinics that will be held every weekday at MIT Medical starting Monday, Sept. 28 and running through the month of October. Call 617-253-4865 to make an appointment. These clinics are for MIT students and MIT Health Plan members. We encourage others to get a flu shot from primary care providers or at neighborhood clinics. However, if you are unable to get a seasonal flu shot outside MIT Medical, you may get a flu shot at MIT for a fee.
There will be a walk-in clinic for students only on Thursday, Oct. 15 from noon to 4 p.m. in the Stratton Student Center (PDR 1 and 2).
For students and family members who are members of the MIT Student Extended Insurance Plan, seasonal flu clinics will be held at three graduate dorms (Westgate, Eastgate, and Sidney Pacific) on dates to be determined. Those clinics are not walk-in; patients must sign up in advance; look for announcements in your residence hall on how to sign up.
H1N1 vaccine will be available some time in November and will be offered free of charge to everyone in the MIT community, beginning with government-mandated priority groups.
