Due to a statewide shortage of seasonal flu vaccine, MIT Medical has begun limiting seasonal flu vaccines to MIT Health Plan members and students who are at high risk for complications from flu. To mark this year's Great American Smokeout on November 20, MIT Medical is sponsoring a "Kick Butt" design contest. The goal is for teams of two to six people to build a deliberately over-engineered mechanical apparatus that will perform the simple task of extinguishing a cigarette in an extremely indirect and convoluted fashion.
