Urgent Dental Care (After Hours)
MIT Medical's Dental Service emphasizes preventive care and patient education. Our services include general dentistry (including cosmetic crown and bridge work), periodontics, bleaching, and implants. For other specialties, we can refer you to dentists in the community. Children under age 15 are referred to local pediatric dentists.
Anyone who is eligible to use MIT Medical is eligible to use the Dental Service, including members of MIT Health Plans; MIT students, affiliates, and employees; employees of the Whitehead Institute; and spouses, same-sex and opposite-sex spousal equivalents, and dependent children age 15 or older.
As with most health plans, routine dental care isn't covered by the MIT Student Health Plan or MIT Affiliate Health Plan. A limited number of special procedures, however, are covered by the MIT Traditional and MIT Choice Health Plans for employees, the MIT Student Extended Insurance Plan, and the MIT Affiliate Extended Insurance Plan. Graduate students and their families are eligible for Delta Dental's Graduate Student Dental Plan, though MIT Medical's Dental Service is not a network provider for that plan. Please review your benefit description or our Dental Service FAQs for more information.
Delta Dental Insurance covers many of our dental services, subject to deductibles and copayment. For other dental insurance plans, we provide a standard claim form you can submit for reimbursement.
We also accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and personal checks at the time of service. Also, students can charge dental services to their student account.
