Health Plans
At MIT Medical, we provide high-quality, easy–to-access care for all members of the MIT community and their families. Our health plans, administered in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, offer cost-effective, convenient, and comprehensive care coordinated by providers on the Cambridge campus and at Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington. Since our inception, we have consistently been the first health care choice for MIT students, faculty, and employees.
MIT Health Plan Highlights
While we offer a number of plans to meet the individual requirements of different members of the MIT community, all MIT Health Plans are distinguished by the following:
- An emphasis on wellness
- Coverage for a wide range of health care services—from routine health screenings to complex surgery—with no deductibles
- Coverage for a wide range of mental health and counseling services
- Access to all the services of MIT Medical, a JCAHO*-accredited healthcare
facility that provides:
- Around-the-clock access to comprehensive medical care
- Experienced care providers in a wide variety of specialties
- On-site pharmacy, laboratory, and radiology services
- Community Care Center, to make sure patients receive the care they need from hospital to home

Our physicians are affiliated with Boston’s top hospitals, and many of our services are available on a self-referral basis. To take advantage of the dedicated care and personal attention that are the hallmarks of MIT Medical, we invite you to evaluate our health plans for:
Students: Available to all registered MIT students, including international and special students, and students’ dependents
Affiliates: Available to affiliates and their dependents
Employees: Available to benefits-eligible employees of MIT, Lincoln Laboratory, the Whitehead Institute, Draper Laboratory, Broad Institute, and their dependents
